In ihren Bildern beschäftigt Ilka Habrich sich mit Phänomenen der Natur, Mensch-Natur-Interaktionen und der menschlichen Spur in der Landschaft. Angestoßen von Eindrücken und dem Erleben der Welt wird diese Thematik in der Malerei kaum bis radikal abstrahiert. In verschiedenen Techniken wachsen Farbräume, in denen sich die Gegensätze von Licht und Dunkel, Schärfe und Unschärfe, Realität und Imagination begegnen. In ihrer aktuellen Werkgruppe „extracts on wood“ werden Elemente, kleine Ausschnitte, Strukturen oder auch Inhaltliches verarbeitet. In spontaner Improvisation entstehen daraus Arbeiten, die in gestische /lyrische Abstraktion steuern - eine Spurensuche, die kaum bis keinen Verweis mehr auf die ursprüngliche Quelle gibt.

In her paintings, Ilka Habrich deals with phenomena of nature, human-nature interactions and the human trace in the landscape. Inspired by impressions and the experience of the world, this theme is hardly or radically abstracted in painting. In different techniques, color spaces grow in which the opposites of light and dark, sharpness and blurredness, reality and imagination meet. In her current group of works "extracts on wood" elements, small excepts, structures or even content are processed. In spontaneous improvisation, works arise that direct into gestural / lyrical abstraction - a search for traces that gives little or no reference to the original source.
